How to reply to App Store and Google Play reviews

Updated

Short answer

You can reply to Google Play reviews from Play Console or its API (replies up to 350 characters, editable later) and to App Store reviews from App Store Connect or its API (one developer response per review). Plash puts both stores’ reviews in one inbox and lets you reply to either from there, starting from an AI-drafted reply you edit.

What a good reply does

Short, specific and human works best:

  • Thank the reviewer and respond to what they actually wrote
  • If they hit a bug, say what they can do now or that you’re looking into it
  • Don’t promise dates or features you can’t guarantee
  • Never ask for personal data in a public reply

Store limits

  • Google Play: replies up to 350 characters; you can edit your reply
  • Google Play API: lists reviews from the last 7 days
  • App Store: one developer response per review, around 5,970 characters

Frequently asked questions

Should I reply to every review?

Prioritize 1–2 star reviews and ones describing a bug; a quick, specific reply can change a rating.

Can I reply to both stores from one place?

Yes, Plash’s review inbox shows Google Play and App Store reviews together and posts replies to either.
